Wells Fargo Securities Careers

Why is Wells Fargo Securities (WFS) a good place to start your career?
As many of our competitors begin exiting businesses, WFS is in a unique position to gain market share through new ventures and acquisitions that offer solid returns. As such, an analyst here will tend to have quite a bit of responsibility and exposure because we are constantly working on new deals and looking for ways to take advantage of the current market environment. Also unique to the firm is that fixed income analysts rotate through different groups. As a result, after only two years, analysts here are
able to build new skill sets, develop a detailed understanding of a variety of products, and expand their knowledge base, all of which are important in the competitive banking industry.

What do you love about your job?
I particularly enjoy asset-backed finance because it’s a unique hybrid of investment banking and sales & trading (S&T). Like investment banking, much of the assignments are long-term projects, but like S&T we are also market facing and regularly engage with the sales force and investors.

What is the best thing about living and working in your city?
Cost of living. Uptown Charlotte is great because it is filled with young professionals, lively nightlife, great food, sports (both the Panthers stadium and Bobcats arena are here), but everything costs about 30% less than NYC. My friend once described this as as a “geographical arbitrage.”
