Wells Fargo Securities Careers

Why did you choose to work at Wells Fargo Securities (WFS)?
While Wells Fargo is obviously a well-respected institution and highly rated employer, the main reason that I chose WFS was the people. The team members at WFS are personable and respect each other. When you work as much as is required as a junior investment banker, it is incredibly important to enjoy the company of your coworkers.

Why is WFS a good place to start your career?
The opportunities and responsibility that you are allotted from your first day are incredible. At WFS, your daily job will have you working on deals that may be some of the most important events in your client?s career. In addition, the learning opportunities are abundant. I cannot imagine another job that would teach you more in your first years out of business school.

Describe your summer internship experience at WFS.
I had a highly valuable summer internship at WFS between my first and second years of business school. The M&A group was very busy at the time, and I had the opportunity to work on numerous live deals. My experience provided a great view into what the job would be like full-time, and it helped me further develop my practical financial knowledge and Excel and PowerPoint skills.

What do you love about your job?
I love the opportunity to interact with senior level personnel at clients who are genuinely seeking your advice on seminal events in their careers.

What is the most challenging part of your job?
The most challenging part of the job is juggling multiple deals and tasks at the same time. You have to remain organized and composed to prevent things from slipping or falling through the cracks.
What is the best thing about living and working in your city? Charlotte is a great city. It provides an excellent quality of life at a low cost of living. You get four seasons and are only a few hours away from both the beach and the mountains. There are many desirable places to live (both houses and apartments) that are a short drive to the office, and traffic is relatively light.

What do you do when you?re not at work?
When not at work I enjoy playing golf, but these days I try to spend as much time as possible with my wife and 6 month old daughter.
