The work environment, job stability, benefits, and location.

Why is WFS a good place to start your career?
There is a lot of opportunity for advancement in the company, and fellow team members want to see you succeed and will help you do so.

What do you wish you had known when going through campus recruiting?
Programming for a bank is significantly more entertaining than it sounds.

What do you think makes someone successful at WFS?
Ambition and willingness to work with others.

What do you love about your job?
The work is challenging but moves at a comfortable pace. I learn something new every day while coding or talking to others.

What is the most challenging part of your job?
I work on unique applications running in a multiple environments that other team members have coded. Troubleshooting issues is no longer a simple Google search; it requires a deep understanding of everything about the application.

What has been your greatest achievement so far at WFS?
When I started my internship I had only worked with Java and a little C++. In just six short months, I have picked up C#, ASP.NET, MSSQL, JavaScript, and HTML/CSS. I can comfortably say I am more proficient with all of these recently learned languages than I am with Java.

What is the best thing about living and working in your city?
Charlotte is a great place to live and work. It's the perfect size to provide all the attractions of a larger city without the traffic and high cost of living. There is always something going on downtown on the weekends, and the close proximity of both the beach and mountains make weekend getaways more enjoyable.

If you participated in a summer intern program at WFS, describe your experience and what you learned from your internship.
The internship was a fantastic experience. The social events were very entertaining and a great opportunity to meet others from around the country. The work given to me was very appropriate for my skill level, and everyone on the team worked with me to get me acquainted with the business.

What do you do when you're not at work?
I enjoy working on cars and motorcycles, watersports, video games, hiking, and building/programming micro controllers.
